Виртуальная примерочная для Topshop
AR Door и компания Topshop, производитель мужской и женской одежды, разработали виртуальную примерочную для показа новой коллекции платьев Dress up.
Специальный киоск для примерочной был установлен во флагманском магазине Topshop по адресу: Москва, пл. Киевского вокзала, 2, ТЦ «Европейский», 2-й этаж, м.Киевская в период с 5 по 8 мая 2011 г.
Виртуальная примерочная сочетает в себе две самые модные технологические тенденции: дополненную реальность и трехмерный жестовый интерфейс Microsoft Kinect. Пользователь не только видит себя на экране киоска в новой одежде, но и управляет программой простыми жестовыми командами: взмахами рук и нажатием невидимых кнопок прямо в воздухе.
Для работы программы не требуются дополнительные маркеры: камера, встроенная в Kinect, распознает тело человека и накладывает поверх него трехмерные модели платьев.
Возможность посмотреть выбранную модель платья с разных сторон (как спереди, так и сзади) делает данную виртуальную примерочную уникальной не только в российской, но и в мировой практике.
Выражаем особую благодарность компании Topshop за предоставленную нам возможность продемонстрировать прототип виртуальной примерочной в их магазине и тем самым выявить мнения обычных покупателей относительно данной разработки.

Damn, i had exact the same idea a few month’s ago. How did you get the meshes for the clothing? Did the Customer provide you with sewing patterns? And what is with the performance of the whole installment? Did the testers get a decent experience that was actually fun to use? Also do you see this device would work as a business model when someone develops a program that generates meshes from sewing patterns?

Mark, This is really cool technology, but they are claiming this as a fitting room what is not exactly true, because the accuracy of measurements with Kinect extremely low, plus 3D assets preparation cost is extremely high. We are talking about $30-$50 per asset preparation cost and it will not solve the fitting problem. May be it will be more easy to go with Zugara solution webcamsocialshopper.com and with low price, easy to implement, accessible to all online users via their web camera. You may also see Zugara’s Kiosk solution at Fashion Week in New York on February 9, 2012. You may go online and see it at http://www.lazylazy.com.

Pity your software makes the people look FAT! I would recommend hiring a few new programmers. As a programmer myself, all I can say is: its not that hard!
I doubt people shopping in topshop appreciate being made out to look wider than they are.

PS: you don’t have to let my previous post through moderation – simply forward the text on to whoever needs to see it and get somebody to fix the problem before rolling these things out to lots of stores.
Besides the issues mentioned, I think its a brilliant idea and (once fixed) expect it would be quite successful.
